Hestia

I think this sums it up really well:
source
Hestia reminds us to keep the flames alive in our own lives, remembering that the condition of our spirits, our homes, and our community requires it.

If we, or our families, are to have a life that warms us, we must nourish our spirits, maintain and watch over them by placing them at the center of our attention. This is the lesson of Hestia.

It is her traits, not her actions, that most define her. The goddess Hestia is usually defined by description in which she is praised for these virtues: mild, gentle, forgiving, peaceful, serene, dignified, calm, secure, stable, welcoming, and, above all else, well-centered.

Aphrodite's ways (romance and marriage) were not her ways, she placed her hand on Zeus' brow and swore an oath that she would not marry. More than anything else, she wanted to follow a path that was true to her nature and was of her own choosing.

Hestia is also known as the originator of the concept of “sanctuary”. It was an offense to Hestia to refuse hospitality to a stranger. That those in need were to be sheltered and protected from ill-treatment was recognized by Hestia’s followers as a sacred obligation.

Hestia is often spoken of in conjunction with her friend and neighbor Hermes, the god of communication and travel. They were polar opposites in terms of personality—Hestia spoke little and stayed at home, while the outgoing Hermes had the “gift of gab” and traveled to the far ends of the world. Though a marriage of such disparate characters clearly could not have succeeded, they shared strong bonds of friendship.

They are remembered together in the Homeric Hymns (edited by H.G. Evelyn-White):
”…be favorable and help us you [Hermes] and Hestia, worshipful and dear. Come and dwell in this glorious house of friendship together, for you two, well knowing the noble actions of men, aid their wisdom and strength.”

The greek place of worship of hestia was called the Prytaneum, which is related to the shape of circular wattled huts, with peaked roof and hearth in the centre, where dwelt the chief of the tribe...

====
Appearance: A sweet, modestly dressed young woman. She often is shown wearing a veil.

Symbol or Attribute: The hearth and the tamed fire which burns there.

Hestia was one of three goddesses immune to the influence of Aphrodite. She could not be forced to love anyone. In Rome, a similar goddess, Vesta, ruled over the group of priestesses called the Vestal Virgins whose duty it was to keep the sacred fire perpetually lit.

Strengths: Constant, calm, gentle, and supportive of the family and home.

Weaknesses: Cool emotionally.

Affairs and Relationships: Though she was courted by Poseidon and Apollon, Hestia chose to remain a virgin. She occasionally had to fend off the attacks of Priapus and other sexually promiscuous creatures and divinities.
