What I'm reading-watching

Movie: The Poisoner's Handbook, loosely based on a true story about the "Teacup Poisoner", Graham Young

Another reason not to want to be a teenager again.
The sets are very interesting to me-early 60's and early 70's in the UK. Great example of quirky english humor.
The thing that kinda blew it was that the main character always looked the same age.
Worth watching. Good rainy day movie.

Movie: Focus
An Arthur Miller piece starring Wm Macy, Laura Dern, Meat Loaf as an oaf.
Wm Macy looks like Harry Potter's Father. Seriously though, it was an excellent ensemble piece about perceived differences in culture, race during war-time/fear-time.

Book: Secret Life of Bees
written by Susan Monk Kidd
This story works on a variety of levels. Coming of age story during the coming of age south in the 60's. Great spiritual factor that is easy to take. Very descriptive, so it is easy to imagine time and place. I am part of a Goddess study group, and only recently learned about the Black Madonna. She plays an important part in this story.
